FAQs

1. Does Digital Life Services get access to passwords?

Emphatically, NO. At no time does DLS get access to passwords. We work with the various website service provider companies to drive the process forward, to manage or untangle the deceased’s online legacy, but we do NOT get access to passwords.

2. How long does the process take?

In many cases, completion of the process can be pretty quick. Unfortunately, though, and depending on the online service provider, the process can take several weeks. At DLS, we complete our actions usually within 48 hours of getting all the required information from you. However, individual sites can take significant time to complete the processing actions on their side.

3. How will I know the status?

We will email you when anything changes and/or whenever we hear from the targeted online service provider. Also, with permission, we will text you as well.

4. In the future, if I want more websites managed, will you waive the identity verification fee?

Yes. Once we have you in our system, and your identification is verified, you can have us manage more sites for only the “site fee.” Currently that site fee is $49. The only requirement is that the managed sites are related to the person originally deceased. If the deceased person is different, then we must start the ID verification process over again and charge for that service.

5. What do I need to complete the process?

Ideally, you have access to technology that will expedite the process. Preferably, you will have the ability to participate in a video chat. Also, a smart phone and an email address makes the process much easier and quicker.

If, for instance, you’re not experienced with video calls, we can easily coach you through it.

If you don’t have access to the above technology, we have other methods available to expedite the process including fax or regular post office mail.

In the end, we can accommodate you in many ways.
